What The Wizz Air Ad Couldn't Fit.

Read These Before You Book Anything:

The dental tourism market in Europe is worth roughly €1.4 billion a year.

Most of that money flows through clinics that process you in volume, 50 patients a week, three dentists rotating through one chair, an

"all-inclusive package" that includes a driver who learns your name on the way from the airport and forgets it on the way back.

Aponia is not that.

Here are six things you should know before you trust us, or any other clinic.

  • Why Aponia patients know their exact treatment plan AND final price before they buy a flight ticket, and what happens to the cases that are refused at this stage (it's roughly 1 in 3).

  • The anesthesia technique I spent years refining after sitting in my own father's dental chair at 22, and why staff now joke that the hardest part of procedures is waking patients up afterward.

  • How €5,000 in Belgrade buys what €18,000 buys in Munich, and the one question I suggest asking ANY clinic before paying a deposit. (If they dodge it, walk. The honest answer is short.)

  • What all these "Turkey teeth" horror stories actually have in common, and why it's not the dentists. The British Dental Association reviewed 40,000 Turkish dentists. They couldn't name one struck off the register. So what really went wrong with those headlines you've read?

  • Why most international clinics need you to fly back a second time, and how Aponia's one-session endodontic method compresses 3 weeks of conventional treatment into 7 days, without rushing a single procedure.

(The math is on page 4 of the case roadmap you'll get from the quiz.)

  • The three types of patients that are turned down, even when they can pay, even when they can fly in for the consultation. Saying no to the wrong cases is what makes the right ones work in 7 days. If you fit any of the three profiles, the quiz will tell you.

If this intrigued your curiosity, don't worry, you'll find everything out shortly.

My own father lied to me.

And he did it while I was sitting in his dental chair, drenched in sweat, with that metallic smell of the office in my nostrils.

They say a shoemaker's children always wear torn shoes. My case was a little more extreme.

I was 22 years old. A dental student. I had a throbbing pain in my back molar, the kind of pain that feels like someone is hammering on the nerve from the inside.

I sat down in my dad's chair. Scared, the way any normal person is scared in a dental chair, and yes, even dentists get scared, don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

He looked at me with his sweetest "dad voice", the one I had trusted my entire life, and he promised me: "Nothing's going to hurt, sweetheart."

I begged him for anesthesia anyway. I was that scared.

But since the lower jaw needs a long needle inserted from the inside of the mouth, my dad decided to use a... well, creative method of lying. He told me:

"To give you the anesthesia, I'll have to push the needle through your cheek from the outside, through your face. Do you want that?"

Today, I know that technique exists only in dusty theoretical textbooks.

Nobody, nobody, has ever actually done it in practice.

But at 22, terrified, I was the kind of person who would rather have the work done on a live nerve than have a needle pushed through her face.

That's where the agony begins.

I endured pain I can't describe in words. But that wasn't the worst part.

When he finished drilling, I was shaking and gasping for air. He said:

"There, it's done. Just one more second to put in the medication. Hold on just a little longer."

I opened my mouth.

I heard the drill spin up.

The next instant, I thought I was on the ceiling. That's how hard my body jerked off the chair.

That level of pain, it ejects you from your own skin.

He put medication on the nerve to kill it. "See?" he said. "Now the nerve will die, and in seven days we'll just take it out. That doesn't hurt at all."

I believed him. He's my dad. He's a dentist.

Seven days later I came back, completely relaxed. The nerve was dead, right?

Removing the temporary filling went fine.

Then he took the thin needle and went into the canal…

I think I lost consciousness from the pain. I screamed at him through tears. I asked him why he was lying to me.

And he just kept repeating: "Hold on just one more second. It'll pass."

There, still crying in that chair, something inside me turned.

Not because the tooth hurt.

But because the man who loved me most in the world, my own father, had looked me in the eyes and lied to me, just to make his job easier.

It took me ten years and several hundred patients of my own to understand what really happened that day.

My father wasn't a bad man.

My father was an average dentist.

And that is the truth nobody in this business will say out loud:

When a dentist tells you "hold on just one more second", he rarely means it for your sake.

He means it for his.

He's thinking about how to finish faster. How to move to the next patient. How to skip the 15 minutes of waiting for the anesthesia to

fully kick in.

Your pain in a dental chair is not an accident.

It's not "this tooth was complicated."

It's not "it had to be a little uncomfortable."

Your pain is a decision.

A decision someone made.

About you. Without you.

After that day, I physically cannot make that decision.

That is why I built my practice on a single rule:

The patient must not feel what I felt. Period.

I named the practice Aponia. It's an ancient Greek word, ἀπονία, that means painlessness. Not "low pain." Not "manageable pain." The total absence of pain as a state of being.

If you're flying into Belgrade from somewhere in Europe, you're probably reading this because you've been putting off something in your mouth for months.

Maybe years.

Maybe you've already sat in a chair twice and heard someone tell you "hold on just one more second" while your eyes were popping out of your head.

Maybe you considered Turkey. Or Hungary. And something, a headline, a TikTok, a friend who came back wrong, made you pull back.

I cannot tell you what every clinic in Belgrade or Budapest or Antalya is like. I can only tell you what mine is.

Mine is the place I would have wanted to walk into at 22.

Despite my partner's positive and satisfying experience, I was anxious and hesitant. Dr. Ana's expertise and dedication impressed me deeply, and I trusted her. The entire staff is skilled and helpful, the environment comfortable and elegant, and the professionalism is top-notch. In Italy, it would have taken me months and much more money to resolve a situation that with them only took a week. Now I have a beautiful smile! Thank you all for the excellence you've shown me, and thank you to my friend Gaetano, who never left me alone.

All this while staying in a splendid apartment complete with every comfort, just a few minutes' walk from the office, located in a beautiful and elegant area of Belgrade. Dr. Ana is wonderful, cutting-edge, with an uncommon finesse and charm. A wonderful team that we will never abandon again. I would also like to add the excellent experience I had with aesthetics and facial rejuvenation. The stunning Dr. Ana is an unsurpassed cosmetic surgeon who will take decades off your tired face! Top on all fronts, thank you Gaetano Arezzo for welcoming me, pampering me, and always looking after me. Thanks also to Lilian, the backbone of the studio, a very sweet and efficient person. Smile, smile, smile, Hollywood smile!!!

Good morning, coming from Switzerland, I was met at the airport and taken to a magnificent apartment, well-equipped and conveniently located near the dental clinic. The reception at the clinic was very warm, Dr. Anna is very professional, does her best to reassure, and her work is meticulous. She even had a translator. The pain went away very quickly, as she said, and aesthetically, I'm very happy. I have a second stay in four months to finish. I'll have another final check-up.

Angelo Petruzzi, Switzerland

There's no point in lying, the world is full of good dentists or dentists who work at affordable prices. But when you combine that skill with a reassuring environment, a welcoming atmosphere, honesty, and a touch of perfectionism? Well, that becomes the perfect combination. All my life, I've always been terrified of the dentist's chair, but at Aponia and in the hands of Dr. Ana and her staff, I finally felt reassured, even when unpleasant procedures were involved. I also appreciate Dr. Tešić's honesty, as she carefully explains (using X-rays on a monitor) what is recommended before proceeding, both functionally and aesthetically. It's not easy to build a relationship of trust, because every professional has their own agenda, but at Aponia, the patient's well-being matters, not money. Last but not least, the prices are truly competitive (for those coming from Italy). If I could give more stars, I would; this is definitely my go-to center, even if it means traveling 700km for a checkup.

I recently visited **Aponia Dental Center** in Belgrade and was thoroughly impressed with their services. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Aponia offers a comprehensive range of dental services, from routine cleanings and fillings to advanced cosmetic dentistry, implants, and orthodontics. I personally underwent a teeth whitening procedure, and the results were outstanding. The dentists are highly professional, and the staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. They make sure to explain every step of the procedure, ensuring that you're comfortable throughout. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which gives you confidence that you're receiving the best care available. The clinic's atmosphere is modern, clean, and very welcoming, which helps ease any dental anxiety. They follow strict hygiene protocols, which is a big plus. Located in the heart of Belgrade, Aponia Dental Center is easy to find. It's situated in a convenient spot with great public transport connections, and there is ample parking space nearby if you're driving. For the quality of service provided, the prices are very competitive, especially when compared to other dental clinics in Europe. They offer a great balance between affordability and top-tier dental care, making it an excellent choice for both locals and international visitors. They also provide detailed cost estimates before starting any procedure, which helps you plan accordingly with no surprises. The customer service at Aponia Dental Center is exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and felt well taken care of. The staff is fluent in English, which is especially helpful for international patients. If you’re in Belgrade and need dental work done, I highly recommend Aponia Dental Center. Their blend of professionalism, advanced technology, fair pricing, and convenient location make it one of the best dental clinics in the city.

I'd like to share my positive experience with Aponia Dental Center and Dr. Ana Tesic. After years of dental problems that affected my self-esteem and my ability to smile freely, I finally found a dental practice that helped me resolve my concerns. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for high-quality treatment with friendly and professional staff. Thank you again for bringing my smile back!

Gaetano Arezzo, Italy

What can I say about Aponia Dental Center without leaving something out. Aponia is not just a place where people can put a smile on their faces. Aponia is much more than that. This office is different from the others (and believe me, I've seen just as many others...) What is personally most important to me and above all the most important thing for Aponia is that patients don't look at each other through work and doing their job, but look each other straight in the eye and with attention from the first handshake to the last hug with all the employees, especially with Dr. Ana Tesic. That hug of sincerity and happiness after the process is complete is what remains forever memorable and indelible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in this office, no longer a dental office, but a place full of sincerity and true professionals, who are also normal and wonderful people. My dears: Ana, Ljiljo, Miho and Ivo, thank you for everything. You have made my life better with the new look of my smile, but more importantly, I have made friends for life in all of you. A special thank you that I must highlight and single out goes to my doctor Ana Tesic, who truly changed my life and gave me self-confidence with my new look and smile that I wouldn't have had without her. Thank you for everything, you are the best!!!!!!!!!

Before you leave, there's still one more thing I have to tell you.

This practice is not for everyone.

I want to be honest with you about something before you go any further.

Aponia is not the right fit for every patient who flies in.

I turn down roughly one in three cases at the planning stage, and I'd rather lose you here, on this page, than have you fly to Belgrade only to find out we're not what you needed.

Here are the three kinds of patient I cannot help.

1. You are shopping primarily on price.

If your decision criteria starts and ends with "who is the cheapest," I am not your dentist. My prices are roughly 2 to 3 times lower than

Munich, London, or Zurich for the same procedure with the same materials. But you will find clinics in Turkey, Hungary, and even

within Belgrade that quote 30% lower than mine.

There is a reason for the gap. I take 4 international patients a month, not 50 a week. I do every procedure myself, instead of splitting your case across three different dentists. I include the airport pickup, the apartment near the clinic, and the post-treatment follow-up in the quoted price, instead of charging for those separately.

If those things matter to you, I am the right call. If they don't, the volume clinics will give you a better price, and you should go there with my blessing.

2. You cannot block out 5 to 7 days in one stretch.

A complete Hollywood Smile or Combined case is 5 to 7 days of work, 1 to 2 working days, on the dental chair. For implant cases the first visit is shorter, 3 to 5 days, but you do need to be in Belgrade for that entire window.

I cannot do this in three weekend trips. I cannot break it into "two days now, two days next month." The protocol works because the work is continuous, my team plans the

crown work around the endodontic work, and the entire case is built as one piece.

If your schedule cannot accommodate one straight week in Belgrade,

even with two months of notice, this isn't going to work.

3. You have certain medical conditions I cannot work around.

Some health conditions make this kind of accelerated treatment unsafe. Untreated autoimmune diseases. Uncontrolled diabetes.

Active cancer treatment, or chemotherapy within the last 12 months. Certain heart conditions. Recent jaw radiation. Severe osteoporosis on bisphosphonate medication.

This is not a complete list. It's also not a reason for embarrassment if any of these apply to you, these are just clinical realities

that make the 5-to-7-day protocol the wrong tool for your situation.

If you have any of these, please mention it in the quiz. We can have an honest conversation about whether there's a modified path that makes sense, or whether you're better served by a clinic with a

different timeline. Either answer is OK with me.

TAKE THE 60-SECOND QUIZ

Now, the reason why there are only 4 spots a month.

Four International Patients. Every Month. No Exceptions.

I want to explain this in detail because I know how cynical scarcity claims look in marketing.

Here is the math.

A complete international case takes me 6 to 7 hours for 1 to 2 days straight. Plus half a day of planning the procedure and 2 to 3 days of lab work. That's one full work week dedicated almost entirely to one mouth.

One international patient per week × 4 weeks per month = 4 international patients per month.

The rest of my schedule, every day, every week, is the local Belgrade patients who built this practice between 1999 and today.

Many of them I've seen for 20 years. Their cleanings, their fillings, their follow-up checks. I'm not canceling on them so I can

add a fifth international patient.

There is no waiting list trick. There is no "limited time spots."

There are 4 weeks in a month. There is one me. Simple as that.

What this means for you, practically:

If you take the quiz today and we both agree this is a fit, the next available slot is usually 1 to 2 months out. For peak season (September through December), it can be 2 to 3 months.

If you keep putting this off, if you bookmark this page and come back in October, the slots for the rest of the year may be gone.

I'm not telling you this to push you. I'm telling you because it's the truth and you deserve to plan around it.

One additional note about the €150 consultation credit you receive with the quiz.

The credit is valid for 30 days from the date you complete the quiz. After that, the consultation reverts to its standard fee.

I do this not to pressure you. I do it because every claimed credit ties up a slot in my schedule that someone else might have used. If you take the quiz and don't move forward within 30 days, the slot goes back to the pool. That's fair to the next person

5 questions. 60 seconds. Roadmap arrives within 5 minutes.

Your information stays between you and Dr Ana's team.

P.S. If you scrolled all the way down here, something on this page hit you. Maybe the story about my father. Maybe the math of why I only take 4 patients a month. Maybe just the photos of people who flew in afraid and flew home smiling.

I want to be honest with you one more time before you decide.

Most people who land on this page do not take the quiz. They bookmark it. They tell themselves they'll come back to it next week,

or next month, when they have more time, when the situation in their mouth gets worse, when they finally feel ready.

That's their choice, and I respect it.

But here is what I have seen over 30 years and 2,500 patients:

The mouth does not get better on its own.

A small problem becomes a bigger problem. A bigger problem becomes expensive. Expensive becomes urgent. Urgent becomes even more painful. And painful, eventually, becomes a phone call at 2 in the morning to

someone who can no longer do the conservative work, because the window for that work closed two years ago.

If you have been sitting on this for months or years, the cost of waiting another six months is higher than you think.

The quiz takes 60 seconds. The roadmap is yours either way. If after reading it you decide Aponia is not for you, that's fine. You'll

still have a clear plan you can take to any clinic, anywhere.

But please. Don't bookmark this and disappear.
